In the past 9 months each of our families mourn the loss of two good men who met in prep school and developed a lifelong friendship: John Baldoni and John Pandiani.

Just this past week, our friend, John Baldoni, succumbed to complications from Covid19. John Pandiani, to whom I was previously married, died in February after a lengthy battle with Alzhemizer’s.

We considered Baldoni (as we referred to him) a member of our family because he and John were more than friends; they were like a pair of brothers. They shared a lot of similar interests, went on many crazy adventures and generally had a helluva good time together.

Baldoni was always there for John through life’s joys and sorrows but the depth of their friendship was never more evident as he watched John slip away over time. He kept in touch with frequent phones calls and trips to Vermont to spend time with John and visit with Jill. In the end, through his own grief and tears he consoled us with love and support, just as he had done for John so many times in the past.

Anyone who has known John Baldoni and had the good fortune of being his friend has been given a lasting and priceless gift…his friendship.

I miss them both.

With sincere condolences,
Leslie Carlson
